The Suzuki method of music education was introduced to America in the early 1960’s and has been widely adopted throughout the world. The fact that the same music is used everywhere makes it possible for children of diverse cultures to meet at international gatherings and play music together.
There are three cornerstones for success and joy in the process of learning an instrument:
- an early start
- complete mastery of each step of learning
- cooperation between teacher, student, and parent
Parental involvement is a vital part of the BTEC program. Parents attend lessons and are trained to be home teachers. Their support and participation as volunteers, fundraisers, and organizers helps to ensure the success of the program.
